1-35-P-H-7.......DOUGLAS O-46A.......Extremely obscure photos of this large cumbersome 1935/1936 USAC observation plane taking off.......This O-46A was one of 90 procured for the USAC to fulfull the role of forward air observation of a battlefront.......unfortunately, the US Military specification for this type of plane was flawed.....a three ton, 725 horspower powered monoplane was hardly a maneuverable, quiet, low altitude, short field plane......design had been superceded by WWII with the 'L' birds such as the 65 hp. Piper L-4 Cub.....much more suited for this type of work..... very good condition 8" by 10" medium resolution photos.............$19 for the two photos |

9-36-P-H-7..........B-19 WITH aLLISON ENGINES IN 1945 .......Probably the most rare photo I have, the B-19 was an experimental design built by Douglas and was the largest US bomber until 1946.......numerous engines were tried, although nothing was powerful enough to move this behemoth....only this one was built and it was scrapped in 1945......witing on reverse of photo notes it was at "Miami AAFB, 1945"...... photo is dated March 1970, a reprint of the orginal..measures 3.5" by 4.5"....very obscure WWII USAAF bomber......(supposedly a wheel from this ariplane remains in the AAF muesum in Ohio) ......$17 |

10-35-P-H-7...... US ARMY SIGNAL CORPS DOUGLAS C-47.....Interesting action photo of USAAC/USAAF Douglas C-47 Dakota landing in a cloud of 'tactical smoke' as deployed by smoke canisters......bottom left of photo is marked 'Signal Corps, US ARMY' with official Signal Corps logo......8" by 10" in very good condition, appears to have been punched for three ring binder at one time (portions of holes visible beyond image at top of photo)......$5
