1-35-P-H-4.....FAIRCHILD 24 ON FLOATS TAKING OFF THE SNOW AT ROOSEVELT FIELD, 1938........ Original 8" by 10" news agency photo, dated, high definition, with typed story on reverse.......Fairchild NC19124, owned by Mark Haney of Hempstead, L.I. found Manchester Bay too full of ice, so he landed on the snow......dated 11/29/1938..... photo has small tear (missing) at lower left edge (see pic), and light wrinkling, but overall fair condition with high definition ........Cabin Waco and hangars visible in background.......I'd swear I have seent his very photo publiched in a magazine from the time, but which one was it, Sportsman Pilot?......I'm not sure........yours for........$11
2-35-P-H-4......VOUGHT SB2U VINDICATOR POSTCARD ......Full color early WWII postcard of US Navy Vindicator...mostly forgotten, this plane was built out of a 1934 US Navy request for a dive bomber/torpedo plane, and about 170 of these were built, some seeing service in the Battle of Midway...... these postcards were sold as sets at base PQ's around the country , and the reverse of the postcards is marked 'US Air Corps Series'.....new old stock unused postcard measures 3.5" by 5.5" in very good condition.......$12
3-36-P-H-4......DOUGLAS A-24 BANSHEE POSTCARD ......Full color early WWII postcard of US Air CorpsA-24 Banshee...mostly forgotten, almost 1000 of the famous Douglas' were built for the USAC/USAAF as the A-24, and used in the Philippines, Australia and Java..(of course the US Navy version was the Douglas Dauntless SBD)....notice the USAC version had no tailhook!... these postcards were sold as sets at base PQ's around the country , and the reverse of the postcards is marked 'US Air Corps Series'.....new old stock unused postcard measures 3.5" by 5.5" in excellent condition.......$12
4-36-P-H-4...WWII WOMEN'S ARMY CORPS PHOTO....Pvt. Carmen M. Stephens, WAC .....Top of photo marked " Pvt. Carmen M. Stephens, WAC" (Women's Army Corps- a woman in the Air Force, from Air Force Dictionary), "15 S. Ann Street, Mobile, Ala......This picture of WAC Pvt. Stephens was taken while she was at Ft. Oglethorpe, GA., during Basic Training"......photo is dated (19)45.....this came off bulletin board of US Military installation that officer in charge would ask for a photo from each enlisted and commissioned who was working on base at the time.....Pvt. Stephens had her training photo available for display....she never got it back.....WAC's filled many important jobs in the AAF such as weather observation, aircraft maintenance, control tower operator, bombsight mechanic, etc.... this type photo is fairly standardized with information card stapled to top ........photo itself measures 7" by 4.5" in weathered, but good condition.........$17
5-36-P-H-4.......PIPER PA-16 CLIPPER 5809H......Its not on the FAA registry any more, where is it?.....great in-flight 8" by 10" shot of the cute little 4 seat Piper 'banking over the hills'...... photo in excellent condition, judging by the appearance of plane, I am guessing this circa 1950's........$12
6-36-P-H-4.....DOUGLAS B-18 BOLO BOMBERS .........Original Acme Newspictures, Inc. 7" by 9" press release photo dated Jul. 29, 1939.......typed byline on reverse of photo mentions the 'Army Air Corps planes, at Mitchel Field, NY'........I count some 18 or so B-18's here in the photo, sadly of the 350 B-18 bombers built, only 5 survive today ....most, if not all the planes in the photo are undoubtably totally demolished and gone today....good condition.........$20
7-36-P-H-4.....WWII MASTER SARGEANT ELMORE ......This is actually 6 photos all stapled together on an Army Air Forces furlough card!.....this 'collage' is actually an official useage of photos with information...when a commissioned or enlisted person was stationed at a particular installation, one of the on-base officers would collect (or solicit) some photos and information of that person.....these were then stapled on giant bulletin boards for all on base too see.......these are collectable items since they were standardized to the point that all follow similar markings at the top of the photos.....this one is dated 16-Jan-(19)45 for M/Sgt. Lee Elmore RFD#2, Gastonia, N.C......."Machinist with 305th Serv. Group, India-Burma Theatre".....photos are captioned, and you can see 4 of the smaller photos are originals taken with a Brownie camera or equavalent......part of captions read " Sgt. Elmore installed these guns in Andal, India---water buffalo horns were ground for "cannon plugs"." (the plane looks like a North American B-25 Mitchell with the nose gun pack including 4 .50 cal BMG's and the 'whopper' 75MM cannon......other caption reads " Sgt. Elmore is a tattoo artist"......on reverse you can see what WWII furlough reports looked like.....measures about 8" tall by 7" wide.......$34

8-36-P-H-4....TWA BOOTH CIRCA 1955........ "Drumming up business" in Cedar Rapids, Trans World Airlines employees pose in front of their elaborate display of two large Lockheed Constellation models, map of nationwide routes, terminal photos, etc.....exceptionally clear 8 by 10" is in excellent condition..........$5

Walter R. Dix, Winter Haven, FLA......marked " This picture was taken in Algeria where Pfc. Dix was member of M.P. Battalion (we see a quite 'dapper' Pfc. Dix here standing next to a local girl)...... photo stapled to card with typed information, marks where it was stapled to bulletin board measures 4" by 3" .....good shape....$8
10-36-P-H-4...... TEMCO SUPER PINTO JET ...... Striking in-flight shot of what at least one enthusiast calls 'a basic kick-butt airplane'......the Pinto first flew in 1956 competing for a spot as a primary trainer, and unfortunately lost out to the Cessna T-37 'Tweet'...... Super Pinto here is seen banking over coastline with crew of 2 onboard........8" by 10" photo....excellent condition... .......$20
