1-35-P-H-3......CURTISS AT-9 JEEP FORMATION PHOTO ......Probably one of the few in-flight photos of these obscure trainers.......the AT-9 was an all metal, Lycoming R680 powered (9 cylinder radial) twin engine transition trainer.....listed top speed was just under 200 mph, and they were reputed to be a tricky lil' machine on the runway that could fly circles around the 'Useless -78' Cessna........does a single one of the original 800 planes exist today?.......large 10" by 14" original black and white photo has coffee stains and some wear at edges.....fair condition.....original WWII photo........$24 ****by the way, nice formation guys!**** |

2-35-P-H-3.....USAAC INSTRUCTION IN HYDROMATIC FULL FEATHERING PROPELLER......Original WWII (or slightly pre WWII) postcard credits thiese fellow in the photo as being at Chanute Field, Rantoul, Illinois,official USArmy Air Corps Photo......this airfield has quite a history, starting as an Army Air Field in 1917, and continuing through 1993, training some of the famed Tuskegee airman in WWII.....postcard unused, measures 3.5" by 5.5", but has some spots and wrinkles, fair condition.....$4 |

FRENCH INVENTOR-AVIATOR OEMICHEN AND HIS HELICOPTER......Another extremely rare original press release archive photo (Keystone of NY) showing French pilot Oemichen...... original byline taped on reverse of photo mentions "There are 4 main and 5 secondary propellers managed by a 'joystick' similar to that on a airplane"............6" by 8" photo cleally shows the large size of this machine, see the pilot seated at the rear (left side in the photo) of the flying craft........what kind of powerplant is that??.......this craft looks like a piece of fiction yet it existed and set the world's first helicopter record........excellent condition original.......absolutely stunning.....$38

, set the first helicopter world record recognized by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale
(FAI) on 14 April 1924, flying his helicopter 360 meters (1,181 ft). On 18 April 1924, Pescara beat Oemichen's record, flying for a distance of 736 meters (nearly a half mile) in 4 minutes and 11 seconds (about 8 mph, 13 km/h) maintaining a height of six feet (2 m). Not to be outdone, Oehmichen reclaimed the world record on 4 May when he flew his No. 2 machine again for a 14-minute flight covering 5,550 feet (1.05 mi, 1.692 km) while climbing to a height of 50 feet (15 m). Oehmichen also set the 1 km closed-circuit record at 7 minutes 40 seconds. |

Roe's empire of aerospace in Canada didn't last long, only from 1945-1962......the CF-100 two seat fighter was a successful design with almost 700 built......original factory 8x10" photo showing the graceful bird.....excellent condition photo has 3 holes punched at top edge........$17.50 |

BEECHCRAFT MODEL 45 MENTOR ........Known as the T-34 to just about anyone, this photo is an original press release 8" by 10" dated Dec. 14, 1948, before the US Military decided they had better buy 'a bunch of 'em (and name them!).... reverse of photo has typed byline with enthusiastic commentary from Walter H. Beech (he didn't live much after this) that the plane is stressed for a factor of ten (g's) and a max. permissible dive of 280mph.....photo was probably used in magazine/newspaper as it has some red markings on image.....nice in flight shot taken from another plane in close formation.......photo has some wrinkles and in fair condition ....$15 |
