1-7-I-N-9......... AC RECORDING TACH'S LARGE..... OK, I give up, I don't have a clue what used these tach's, but they are AC brand, recording tachometers, the one on the right appears new old stock with only .04 of an hour on it, vintage non- luminous creme markings on black background, redline from 2100 rpm. and up ...... marked on case that it registers twice cable speed, and hourmeter calibrated at 1540 rpm.........works off reverse rotation like many antique airplanes use with angle drive adaptors on their tach cables......the tach. on the left is another AC that has a broken tach. needle, and doesn't seem to work anyway , but it looks like a similar unit, so should be good spare parts.....flange mount (no 'u' channel included) and strangely, these are slightly larger than standard, about 3 and 3/8" across....both for......$45
2-11-I-N-9...VINTAGE OIL TEMP GAUGE...Mfg in the early '40s...standard two and one fourth inch 4 screw panel mount with old style 'snap ring' face bezel...oil temp range from 10-150 c. (approx 50-300 f.')...has 8 foot long capillary lead with 4" long bulb...in fine working order...new-old stock condition...have several...standard 2 and 1/4' diameter hole mount..unique toggle behind the face allows you to change the marking from 'OIL TEMP' to 'COLLANT TEMP'....this feaure was used in aircraft like the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk and Bell P-30 Airacobra with liquid cooled Allisons...(you should have an instrument shop toggle this, its hard to get to)..$ 195 each
3-27-I-N-9....VERTICAL CHRONO TACHOMETER, AIR CORPS 1929.....Quite rare and unusual aircraft instrument built for the Air Corps in 1929 by Pioneer Instruments...probably was used in a Boeing P-12 as some of the early versions had these vertical instruments...this is a chronograph tachometer...the type with clockwork which were very expensive and very accurate....size approx 1 3/8 by 7" and 5" deep...marked Air Corps and dated 1929 on the case...$495

4-44-I-N-9...... PRE-WWII PIONEER 3 1/8" VACUUM T&B- DUTCH EXPORT........Look closely at the writing above Pioneer....'BOCHT' AND 'DWARSHELLING'...... has standard New Jersey metal data plate on case......extraodinarily scarce, this may have been installed in a export Northop A-17 or Douglas 8A-3N attack bomber.......glass is missing, turn needle damaged, ball is empty of fluid, but more rare than most Axis WWII instruments ......... untested .pre-German Invasion......SOLD

****sale includes new clear face glass, not installed****

5-2-I-N-9........BOEING B-47 STRATOJET RMI ......Excellent condition Radio Magnetic Indicator as installed directly in front of the Captain of the sleek 6 jet bomber......the RMI was an ingenious integration of 3 flight instruments into 1......it showed 1. the magnetic heading of the airplane, 2. the relative bearing to NDB station #1, and 3. the relative bearing to NDB station #2 .......as a result the flight crew could rapidly identify their location on the flight chart......a modernized version of this instrument is in current use today.....measures std 3 and 1/8" diameter mount, 6", with massive canon plug connector in rear of case......dated AF-59 (USAF 1959).......warning that the case is hermetically sealed ......untested, some dents in sheet metal case, face is perfect........overall excellent condition....$65

****look on the B-47E instrument panel on the left side of the panel****

6-47-I-N-9. MYSTERY WWII 600 KNOT AIRSPEED ....OK I give up, I can't figure out what aircraft used this ...its a std. 3 and 1/8" mount Bendix Pioneer type F-2 airspeed indicator, the same indicator that the P-51 and P-47 used, except the face is calibrated in Knots instead of MPH.......the range is exactly the same, the case, markings, everything the same but the face........the instrument is marked as a 1942 unit, but the US Navy did not to my knowledge have any aircraft with a 600 Knot airspeed indicator in 1942!.......was this gauge used in an Experimental US NAVY plane?.. an export?....was this gauge later modified by the US Navy for use in something like the F9F Panther?..........if you know what aircraft used this, tell me!.............SOLD

8-27-I-N-9.....CONSOLIDATED PB4Y-2 OIL GAUGE ....The US NAVY version of the B-24 Liberator served in many major campaigns over both the Pacific and Atlantic during WWII.....used as a maritime patrol bomber, recon, transport, and observation plane, the large 4 engine machine spent a LOT of time over the ocean.....hence the need for monitering the oil useage for each of the 14 cylinder radial Pratt & Whitney's......this Liquidometer model EA 109-4 gauge indicated all four engines oil quantity at once........with Navy anchor acceptance stamp and data plate on case....unit appears fesh from overhaul (well 60 ago years fresh!).....standard 3 and 1/8" diameter, looks most impressive.......$65
