1-1-I-N-1....P-51 MUSTANG COOLANT TEMPERATURE GAUGE......Std. 2 and 1/4" dia ,mount, indicates from -50 to +150 degrees C'......... used to moniter the coolant temp. of the Rolls Royce Merlin when installed in the P-51 Mustang......I have no idea if these work (sorry, no Merlin to test it on) but these are complete original, with data plate on rear of case.....just found a few, all with slight minor variations in face marking design, but same spec. # .....very good condition.....each.......$50

**** You can see in this Mustange panel photo, it has 2 of these gauges, one to indicate coolatn temp, and the other oil temp, they are located to the right of the horizon****

2-25-I-N-1....PILOTS DIRECTION INDICATOR, WW11 B-17/B-24....This "PDI" was directly in front of pilot in B-17s and -24s and used to indicate direction of aircraft on bomb run when coupled with the C-1 autopilot and Norden Bombsight...you can buy a real bit of WW11 combat history when you buy this 3 1/8" diameter Pilots Direction Indicator (Bombing Run)...glass needs cleaning, very good condition....have a few......$40 each

3-45-I-N-1.......JONES TACHOMETER, NEW IN BOX......OK antiquers, your instrument prayers have been answered, sorta......this is a brand new original, in the box 4" face Jones tachometer circa mid-late 1920's .... and yes its in excellent condition...........the only catch is this tach is actually a tachometer testing unit, intended to verify actual RPM of installed engines, versus other tach readings.......as such, it has a smooth case (no dog ear mounts) and the tach drive is a unique set of 6 different adaptors made to 'push on' the end of the drive assy. and fit whatever the installation......all of this is neatly stored away in a fancy lined, wooden box finished in leatherette .....the tach. indicates from 0-2500 RPM, and not surprisingly, runs and feels like new when turned.....snap ring glass cover attractive creme/black face......face marked ' RPM in Hundreds, JONES TACHOMETER, Patented, Jones Motrola, Stamford, Conn.,USA'....black case is metal and stamped on reverse with serial number....still has clean grease inside.....I am convinced this tach could be modified/adapted for your antique airplane panel, and it doesn't need to be rebuilt, its new in box.......$125

4-9-I-N-1...........P-38 LIGHTNING MAG SWITCH ......Square D type B-5A twin engine mag switch fits in standard 3 and 1/8" mount, has both L & R mag switches and master cutoff button.....the B-5 specification also used a large cutoff switch which was interchangeably used in aircraft......this switch was also used in the B-25 Mitchell..........very good complete condition, untested..........$95

****sale includes copy of P-38 panel photo from Official PIulot training Manual showing lever type B-5 installed****

5-1-I-N-1...........'CAT EAR' WALTHAM TACH .... As removed from a friend's J-3 Cub, this tach is the older style Waltham with tab mounts, and white non-luminous markings on black background........ threaded for standard mechanical drive..........3 and 1/8" face.......case, face, and glass all in very good condition, but this tach. is in need of repair before use (yep, thats why it was removed from the Cub) ........the indicator needle is missing, glass is loose, and the drive seems hard to turn (un-scientifically tested)...... so if you need spare parts, or just can't find one and have a good instrument shop, this is just the ticket for you at .....$45
6-37-I-N-1........OXYGEN BLINKER, P-51 MUSTANG, P-47 THUNDERBOLT.........Original to most WWII era aircraft capable of flying into the stratosphere(above 30,000 '), these gauges would slowly "blink" yellow then black to indicate that oxygen was still flowing to the mask, precluding the deadly effects of hypoxia.....ingenious in design, these seem much higher quality then what modern airliners use.....standard 2 and 1/4" diameter...some manufactured 1942 by Delco Radio, a division of General Motors, builders of numerous WWII planes.....have several in good used condition........$19

7-5-I-N-1..... HELL'S ANGELS MOVIE PROP ...... Reportedly this 'altimeter' was used in the studio prop instrument panel of the German Gotha Bomber for HELLS ANGELS.......I have not been able to positively verify this, but it is quite an interesting instrument, it appears to have started life as a late 1920's Jos. W. Jones 4" tachometer as what Waco, Travel Air and other aircraft manufacturers used......it was then modified with a hand re-painted face to resemble an altimeter, and the workings were removed and replaced with a lever in the rear of the case that allowed for.... 'manual movement' (from a hidden position behind the instrument panel?)......the instrument still works in this fashion.....case is dented, one screw is loose under the glass, but it is obviously an old modification.......We do know that Howard Hughes spent 3 years and $4 Million dollars on this 1930 epic, and there are scenes involving close-ups of the 'Gotha' (really a S-29 Sikorsky)...the crash scene of the real airplane was so dangerous that several real WWI pilots refused to fly the stunt, and the flight mechanic was killed when he failed to bail out..the fate of the studio prop is not known, but this instrument came from Hollywood area of California...probably belongs in a museum, but could be re-modified to work again in your restoration......$195

8-4-I-N-1.... Bf-109 MESSERSCHMITT ALTIMETER ......This altimeter was used as standard equipment in a number of WWII German aircraft, take a look at the Bf-109 panel and you can see it at the lower left......'worldwide' standard 3 and 1/8" dia. mount.....phenolic/plastic case with German tag and markings on rear of case......also has 2 red 'bugs'for setting important altitudes (like field elevation)......set knob is broken, and it is trangely set at the 9 'o' clock position......case, face, glass all appear in dirty, good condition, but altimeter untested ........ WWII German instruments are like hen's teeth now to find, if you want a real 3rd. Reich Luftwaffe altimeter............$195

9-9-I-N-1.........LOCKHEED P-38 LIGHTNING TURN AND BANK.......Pioneer (division of Bendix) vaccum driven turn and bank showed the pilot two things, #1 when he was in coordinated flight, and #2 what rate of turn he was in (helpful in the clouds!).......the 'doghouses' were often painted over or omitted, but this unit has them.......procurement date of (19)42.......excellent condition face.....working condition....SOLD

****sale includes copy from original USAAF training manual showing this type instrument installed in the panel of the P-38****

10-1-I-N-1......... JAEGER C-11 TACHOMETER ....... Original equipment on a variety of USAAF WWII aircraft, everything from fighters to primary trainers.......this one looks in very good condition with AN acceptance stamp on reverse.....tach. drive shaft turns freely, but needle does not, so it definently needs overhaul....complete and doesn't appear to have been 'opened-up' in a long time....$120
