'43.........General Motors 'Victory is Our Bsiness' Wartime monthly magazine done in 'larger than life' 10" by 14" magazine......obscure yet interesting factory news magazine.......photos on every page, showing some depressing information - of the 69,044 GM employees serving in US military forces, every month more are KIA, MIA, or POW.......names and faces......feature on airplane power, explaining superchargers.......we also see an article on smart uniforms, and a great photo of an Eastern F4F that was covered with employee's cash contributions (dollar bills taped to the airplane) in the name of War Bonds......very patriotic magazine, makes you think twice about driving your Mercedes to work ....... 28 pages in very good condition.....$15 |

Actually this manual is kind of fun to peruse, they talk about filling out flight forms, reporting airport traffic, etc.... hardbound, measures 8" by 11", roughly 100 pages in very good original condition....hardbound...$10 |

TECHNICAL MANUAL, WEATHER FOR PILOTS, 1940....Original war dept TM-1-230 dated May 1940...softcovers with 280 pages and several fold out charts of U.S. weather patterns...clouds...air masses...icing...fronts...etc...all in here for the young Air Corps pilot to keep from breaking his butt when flying XC in weather...info still good today...its yours for...$15 |

5-4-B-O-7........MIL SPEC. SPECIFICATIONS 1957/8 ......Admit it, we all use the term 'mil-spec' but really haven't thought much about it!.........well here is a set of publications, one by the Bureau of Ordinance, US Navy, the other by the Office of the Asst. Secretary of Defense, both of these manuals are written to prepare items for Mil-Spec approval.......first is titled Preparation Of Specifications, the second is Military Outline of Form and Instructions for the Preparation of Specifications..... they mention how things are to be packaged, type approval tests, sampling, etc..... this is from the paperwork of an Engineer at Boeing, you can imagine how much work this would be for say, an entire B-52......each manual is 8.5" by 11" and about 60 pages,softbound at the top by file type fasteners and each inserted inside a large file folder..stamped received dates with official seal 1957 and 1958.....good condition.......$12 |

MEDICAL SUPPORT OF THE AAF IN WWII .........Office of the Surgeon General, USAF, Government Printing Office..........THE definitive reference of all medical aspects of USAAF in WWII......book starts with an introduction and history of the medical program and Officers of the Army Air Corps......well laid out book has some 50 chapters including the 8th Air Force, 12th Air Force and Torch, case hostory 434 Bombardment Squadron, health and Fighting Effectiveness in China-Burma-India.....the list goes on.......fold out pages, photos, numerous specific references...... hardbound book measures 7" by 10", has 1027 pages, and weighs 5 pounds........not written specifically for doctors, it is actually more of a COMPLETE history book on the subject of medicine and the AAF....from a private collection.....excellent condition....one left........$39

7-54-B-O-7......US NAVY NAVIGATIONAL TABLES FOR NAVIGATORS, 1936..... Hardbound book measures 7" by 10" with something like 500 pages in it, all of tables such as the sun's azimuth, 'variation of altitude in one miute from meridian passage'......hard to imagine or remember( for you old guys!) the days before modern GPS,LORAN type navigation, this is why aircraft had navigator's, and through the use of their equipment such as setant and slide rule, they could accurately find the next waypoint......this manual appears to be part II of a set......completely obsolete now.....used, good condition with some wear to covers, owned by Donald Richards, dated '42.......only $8 |

8-2-B-0-7.......50th ANNIVERSARY OF THE BOEING B-17 FORTRESS......... Written by the legendary Peter Bowers, this softcover 100 page book details the origins of the plane, development, armament, details, similar designs (like the B-24), variants, color and markings, Combat Group Markings, fighter escorts, specifications, serial numbers, and even the last remaining planes on the U.S. civil registry as of 1985 (they were still being used as fire bombers in the 1980's)....with a photo, drawing, schematic, or graph on virtually every single page, the worst part about this book is I only have a few of them .......sure to provide some new information to even the most knowledgable B-17 enthusiasts....measures 8.5" by 11" in new condition......$15 each |

9-2-B-O-7.......WAR DEPARTMENT TECH MANUAL, July 25, 1941............"Physiological Aspects of Flying and Maintenance of Physical Fitness".....despite the long name, this book is quite good reading, most of the information worthwhile to the modern aviator, yet little if any of this information is available any more.......topics such as effects of high 'g'-loading on the human body, why a professional pilot should be treated with respect by the 'air agency' (yeah tell that to any modern company that furloughs it pilots!)......and numerous other worthy topics.....127 pages....5.5" by 8.5' in excellent new old stock condition.......$25
