1-1-B-O-11.....THIS IS MY LAND, MARTIN CAIDIN & JAMES YARNELL.......First Edition, hardbound.....another obscure aviation book, this is an interesting photobook from the perspective of a small airplane taking photos of the United States, from all four corners of this Country and in-between......Copyright 1962, James Yarnell took the photos, and Caiden flew the plane, a Beechcraft Debonair....photos range from prominent landmarks such as Mt. Ranier and Lake Shasta, to obscure ones such as a marsh in Louisiana.....all photographs are black and white high resolution taken with Honeywell Pentax......book is laid out into sections where the men flew, East, Midwest, Great Plains, Land of Black Gold (Texas) and so on... measures 9" by 12" and about 200 pages.....the late Caidin was a very prolific aviation author, wrote more than 50 books and some 1000 magazine articles......what is most interesting is James Yarnell signed book (see inset) and, the book is dedicated to Olive Ann Beech (Beechcraft)......she too signed the book in 1966 .....both Caiden and Beech are now deceased....no dustjacket, but book in excellent condition.....signed by Yarnell and Beech....$49

6-48-B-O-11........JANE'S ALL THE WORLD'S AIRCRAFT 1942 .........8.5" by 13" hardbound with about 450 pages......this particular copy is quite unique in that it was bought new by a Boeing Field Service Engineer, Boeing Aircraft Company of Seattle Washington, USA who was in England on Oct. 5, 1943....all of this is written in pen inside the cover including the owner's name..........some light water marking on covers/pages (hey it was humid in UK!) but book otherwise in good condition..........own an important reference book with a history of its own.........$99

Angle.............For anyone who has not looked through one of these giant 8 pound (really!) reference books, you are in for a treat........a US competitor to Janes (British), basically everything that happened in 1942 is contained here........ not only are there photographs and specifications of every plane produced in every country, but information such as instrumentation in each plane, dash numbers of the engines installed, etc.etc. even the b&w photographs are of high resolution and average 2" by 5" each.........names of civilian contracters by region such as colleges and schools, civilian companies with addresses and lists of what aircraft items they produced, its all in here!......invaluable work for the airplane restorer or historian.....lists of everything in here, even designated landing fields.....more facts and information listed in here than any other yearly publication...this particular copy is in very good condition......measures 1 foot tall by 9" wide with about 600 pages........$120

PILOT'S FLIGHT OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR C-54A ........ dated June 25, 1944 with revision March 15, 1945.........This is the flight manual for both C-54A and R5D-1........8.5" by 11", and 176 pages....... divided into 6 sections and 4 appendix'.....manual not in binder but has been punched with two brass brads....some light markings and the last few pages are somewhat tattered (probably since there was no binder)......complete and otherwise good condition......original....$165

JJ Grayson .........Interesting obscure hardcover book with 11 chapters relating to famous pilots such as the Wrights, Lindy, Doolittle, Frank Hawks, Admiral Byrd, Earhart, and so on.........the format this book was written is 2 friends (fictional?) and their exploits and being told stories about famous aviators (non-fiction).......I like the unique writing style and warm, true stories about famous aviators of days gone by......243 pages, 5" by 7".......from what I can see this book was only published in this one edition ....no dustjacket, good condition........$15
