4-48-B-O-10.....AVIATOR'S RECOGNITION MANUAL ......Headquarters Department of The Army, Wash. DC, August 6, 1984...........In the preface of the manual, the stated purpose is: 'Familiarize aircrews with modern combat equipment'......softbound book measures about 6' by 9" and is almost 1 inch thick...........chapters divided up into such topics as 'Rotary-Wing' Aircraft, Antiaircraft Guns and Surface to Air Missiles, etc......chapters sub-divided into categories such as 'Bomber and Fighter Aircraft' in either 'Allied Equipment' or 'Warsaw Pact' equipment.......(hey remember that was still cold-war times).......each desciption includes one or more photos, recognition features, users, specs, and occasional three views........interesting notes on what country was using what piece of military equip......some light doodling (yeah typical bored flight crew) on front cover, and binding starting to look a little loose on a few pages.......all complete and undamaged.......original US Gov't publication and only....$15
**** If you look real close, you'll notice a few 'Where's Waldo' type errors in this book, like the Cessna O-2 has wheelpants, something impossible unless they used a three view from a Cessna 336 which was not ever impressed into military service!**** |
