2-31-D-M-3......... NORTH AMERICAN T-28 ENGINE DATA PLATE...........This plate was affixed to the Wright R-1300-1B seven cylinder engine that powered North American's follow on trainer to the AT-6, the T-28A Trojan........ this engine was said to sound like a 'John Deere tractor' due to its only having 7 cyl. to produce 800 hp!..........quite a rare engine today, the R-1300 never seemed very popular with aircraft manufacturers, even though it is really just 1/2 of the popular WWII Wright R-2600 that powered the B-25......plate shows the engine ##, Mfrs. ##, Airforce contract #, acceptance date (9.24.53) etc.manufactured by Kaiser-Frazer Corp. engine division in Detroit Michigan for Willys Motors Inc. under license from Curtiss Wright Aero Div-get all that??!....... heavy stainless steel, measures 3" by 5" in good shape...SOLD |

3-13-D-M-3......BOEING B-50/C-97 AIRCRAFT DATA PLATE REPRO.......As with most other Boeing products, this is attractive and features the famous Boeing 'totem pole' (which strangely is missing from modern Boeing products).....the B-50 is the follow on B-29 SuperFortress, and the C-97/KC-97 was a B-50 wings and tail mated to a larger cargo fuselage, make sense?!.....plate is 2.5" X 4" oval, made of aluminum with black screening on face, exact as per original....new condition....$67
***A word about reproductions- For the record, I always prefer original to reproduction, BUT, sometimes the originals are either long gone or prohibitively expensive. Sometimes the only way we will ever see an item is by high quality reproduction, which is what this is.......*** |

LIGHT ........Attached to air-drop cargo loads during night time operations, this light was used to not only locate the cargo once dropped, but also to identify what type of cargo it was by the color......typically red was ammo, green was misc. and white was medical supply......this light measures about 7.5" long, and has a metal shaft with clear plastic end caps......appears to have used AA size batteries, and one lightbulb at each end.......sole marking on the shaft is 'TL-214' ......appears in new condition, but the batteries and bulbs are missing........$11 |

10-14-D-M-3... AVRO SHACKLETON COMPONENT DATA PLATE...........Extremely lucky find, this is an original dataplate from aircraft WR 985, a Mk3 still in existance in Canada, rotting away somewhere in an aircraft boneyard....I found someone had actual photos of this aeroplane posted online, see the link below... dataplate measures about 2" by 2.75" aluminum as removed with stamped ID information..very good condition.....this particular aircraft item was built on November 15, 1957, making this one of the last of the 185 produced.... its a Mk. 3, here is some info on this type: The MR.3 was another redesign in response to crew complaints. A new tricycle undercarriage was introduced, the fuselage was increased in all main dimensions and had new wings with better ailerons and tip tanks. As a sop to the crews, on fifteen hour flights the sound deadening was improved and a proper galley and sleeping space were included. Total take-off weight had risen by over 30,000 lb (13,600 kg) (Ph. III) and assistance from Armstrong Siddeley Viper Mk.203 turbojets was needed on take-off (JATO).[2] This extra strain took a toll on the airframe, and flight life of the Mk. IIIs was sufficiently reduced that they were outlived by the Mk. IIs.
