5-17-A-D-M-2.....CHASE 'AVITRUC' CONTROL WHEEL HUB CENTER....Designed as a large troop glider or towable fuel tank in 1945, but war ended before any saw action....then given twin engines and made into a troop and cargo carrier..the Chase 'Avitruc' was a rare bird..some 120 were built and saw duty in the '50's and 60's.....design later purchased by Fairchild and turned into the C-123 of 'Nam and "Air America" fame.....possibly all thats left from this rare original variant is this 1 3/4" control wheel center...(not what the Fairchild C-123 used) it is still in excellent shape....$65
6-14-A-D-M-2.....BERLIN AIRLIFT ASHTRAY....Ashtray from USAF base in Kitizingen Germany....has aircrew wings in center of heavy aluminum ashtray.....a souvenir of the cold war and Berlin Airlift days...probably held a lot of smokes from overworked and nervous C-54 pilots......$45
