2-20-D-M-1.......WRIGHT CYCLONE 14 (R-2600) DATA PLATE.......Curtiss Wright Corp. aircraft engine data plate for the 14 cylinder R-2600 radial engine......This is for the -35 engine that was unique in that even though Curtiss Wright stopped production of this engine at the end of WWII, they continued upgrading the design....by the early 1950's, only a few US Military aircraft still used the R-2600, such as the North American B-25 Mitchell.....this steel plate measures about 3" by 5" and engine firing order, blower ratio, serial numbers etc....whats most interesting though is the original contract number has been mostly removed, but you can still read it was (19)42...this plate was affixed to a WWII Wright that probably powered a B-25, then was later updated after WWII, most likely to continue operating on a TB-25 Trainer.....surface rust on plate, markings still visible .....interesting original history..........$30

4-4-D-M-1....GRUMMAN ALBATROSS / TRACKER CENTER CONTROL CAP ......Back in the 'good ol days' aircraft manufacturers added a unique touch of class to the cockpit, and this one one way they did it - their own logo on the control wheel center cap.....unfortunately, this was also the first thing 'liberated' from the cockpit of many airfract, since all it took was a pocketknife to pry it off!....A Grumman HU-16 Albatross restorer couldn't find any more original control wheel center caps, so he had these made up.......this is a reproduction, but is made like original, out of metal, with painted on Grumman emblem......cap 'snaps' on center of control wheel.....also known as a 'wilkie cap'......excellent condition, and known to fit both the HU-16 Albatross and S2F Tracker........I do not know if this will fit a Mallard or Goose.......2 and 1/8" diameter, convex cap, new condition...I have a couple of these....$45 each |
