3-47-D-C-1......TRANSLAND AG-2 PHOTO 'KIT' ......Part of a sales brochure 'kit' that dealers of Transland Aircraft were issued and meant for distribution to prospective buyes, these are nice 8" by 10" action photos of an obscure agplane first certified in 1958.......it was touted as having a safer structure for the pilot, and a wider spray swath than conventional ag-planes of the day such as the N3N, Stearman and Piper Super Cubs.......it had a P&W 600hp that looks to have been 'unbolted' directly from war surplus AT-6's.........Transland of Torrance Calif is long gone, and I don't know if any of these planes survive ( I don't think too many were built in the first place).....original photos are nice high definition shots in good cond. except one edge of each photo is damaged from long-term storage(see photos)......bottom of each photo identifies the type plane and manufacturer ......obscure foot-note in post WWII civil aviation......... set of all 4 photos......$16

9-10-D-C-1........1954 GENERAL ELECTRIC AIRCRAFT DATA CHART AND AIRSPEED :ALTITUDE INDICATOR......Here is a puzzling slide chart, one side is a comprehensive listing of USAF aircraft and USN aircraft silhouettes, then a list of specifications of each airplane (this list changes as you move the slide chart).....gives you info. such as popular name, engine type and model No., spees, dimensions, etc.....more curious however is the other side of this chart/computer....it has a table to 'decode' both USAF and USN aircraft designations (like what does P2V-7 mean?), but most strange is the speed/mach chart.....this chart computes calibrated speed to true airspeed and mach number, dependant on altutudes from sea level to 100,000' !.......who in 1954 would need to know this type of information?......I don't know if any of this info. was still classified, but certainly no civil aircraft pilots would need to know this stuff!........my guess is either GE (aircraft engine) employees or US Military would have used this chart....measures 8.5" by 4", plastic outer chart with cardboard sliding inner scale....very good cond...$20
