Nostalgic old felt patch with what appears to be paint transfer stamp of military biplane in flight with parachutist below .........VERY OLD and ORIGINAL........I am not sure of this patch's history, but bought a few from a pilot who had recently "flown West"........measures 3.5" across and 3" tall ....$24 each
5-1-A-C-1......NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC 1918 ....June issue with article 'Aces Among Aces'.....22 page feature includes 9 photos such as French Escadrille ace, Lt. Fonck, and maj. Billy Bishop, living holder of world's record for air to air victories (Red Baron had just been shot down)....lists of leading aces by country......very worthwhile for the WWI enthusiast....very good condition, 7" by 10" Nat'l Geographic........$19


7-42-A-C-1.......VEHICLES OF THE AIR, VICTOR LOUGHEAD, 1911........To those of you who don't know, Victor Lougheed was the oldest of 3 brothers, Malcom and Allan being the other two, the men that pioneered giant LOCKHEED AIRCRAFT COMPANY ........Victor was the only brother who showed an early interest, and was the only formerly trained in aviation, aviation engineering in his case.....this hardcover 514 page book contains 15 chapters and 270 illustrations/photos ......probably the best guide of its time for specific aircraft construction, chapters break down such details as propeller efficiences dependant on their placement of the airframe, their rotational speed and how many blades they use.....doubtless many early airplane designers got their start with this book......not surprisingly, the Lougheed brothers later formed one of the most infuential and innovative aircraft companies in history.......fun to read book for dawn of aviation......(I keep my own copy)......used, good condition third printing, dated 1911 (first printing was 1909) .......SOLD

This old original three by four inch glass slide holds image of pre-WWI aviator and his aircraft.......this slide came from estate of turn of the century aeronaut, Roy Knabashue......pencil marked on edge of slide 'Los Angeles Dec-1911 - Jan-1912'.........very early museum quality original one of a kind item.........$65
9-2-A-C-1......."THE AEROPLANE SPEAKS" .......1918 ........Hardbound, 144 pages with another 50 or so bookplate photos of aircraft from the Wright Bros to 1917 .....chapters on stability, rigging, propellers, maintenance of aircraft circa 1917......this is a landmark early aero manual .......compiled by H. Barber Captain of the RFC..... original 1916, this is 6th Edition!........last 10 pages or so are adversitements of the time (such as Blackburn Aircraft) and one page is neatly snipped out... used, fair good condition..........$45


10-10-A-C-1.....OUR YOUNG AEROPLANE SCOUTS AT VERDUN.....Horace Porter, 1917.....hardbound fiction, 242 pages.........Porter authored an entire series of 'Our Young Aeroplane Scouts'.......typical of the period fast reding action has this pair of young men fighting evil whilst using their plane.....good condition book, no dustjacket, complete, first and last few pages loose.......$19
